EDU 649 EDU649 EDU/649 Week 6 Final Project Learning Module

Instructions

You have been learning how to design instructional materials and use technology to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, impact and appeal of your instruction. With the need for 21st Century skill sets such as Digital Literacy, searching and locating information has become an important skill for students to develop. To develop this skill in your students, you assign a research project where they must search the Internet and collect and analyze information. In addition, you ask students to create a presentation or other product that can be shared with an audience.

To support your students in their learning activities, you will develop a website, a blog, a wiki, WebQuest, or other web based tool to house your lesson. Your website should include an introduction to the lesson, a description of the learners, the learning goals and objectives as well the learning activities. You also will develop assessments that tie to the learning objectives including a rubric to use when scoring the learner presentation or final product. The rubric should include at least 2 Criteria and 3 Performance Levels that are aligned to the learning objectives for the activity

The web tool should include all necessary information for teaching this lesson by another instructor.

For your Final Project, develop a lesson module (ten to twelve pages in length) that includes:

  1. A description of your audience and lesson being taught;

  2. A description of the purpose of the lesson along with learning objectives that include the performance, condition

    and criteria;

  3. An explanation of the theories and/or principles that support your selection of instructional methods;

  4. The assessment or evaluation rubric for the learner presentation or final product; and

  5. Any support documents for your lesson (however please note, these do not count toward the length requirement).

In your paper, discuss your thought process involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of this lesson. Include a thorough description of your instructional methods and the theories or principles that support your selection. Support your choices with evidence from the text and at least four other credible resources.

You may use any or all of the instructional materials you have created during this course.

The second part of this lesson will include a web based tool that houses your lesson. The site should include all the information necessary for another instructor to teach it, including a description of the learners, the learning objectives, a description of the learning tasks, and the assessments used in the lesson, including a rubric to assess the presentation or final product by the learners.

The lesson built within your website can be copied into your final paper as the lesson portion of the assignment. In your report, be sure to include all the elements described below:
