OL 600 Short Paper Performance Management and Employee Incentive Programs (SNHU)
It’s been regarded by some that employee incentive programs do not work and in other cases, they do work under certain circumstances. My belief is that employee incentive programs work, but an incentive program that works in sales, may not work in an education career field. I believe that in order for employee incentives to work, management and the human resources department need to understand what motivates and engages their employees. This paper will discuss why engagement and understanding motivation makes an incentive program successful and will also look at performance management systems in higher education. Finally, I will discuss any improvements that should be made in these programs to satisfy both employees and employers.
